Cherry Blossom time

Washington is famous for its Cherry Blossoms a beautiful display of the connection between Japan and the USA and of Spring. On Saturday we took a walk down to the tidal basin and enjoyed the delights of the beauty of the trees and flowers.

Cherry blossoms really are amazing, so delicate, so full of joy, hope and beauty. Such a good portent of Spring and the delights of the warmer weather.

Hopefully this will give you an inkling of how many trees there are around the basin, the entire area is full of the trees. Different varieties and sizes.

And below, the classic view of the blossoms and the Jefferson memorial.

I’m hoping they stay for a good few days longer so our friends get to see them too!
